Tim Defauw

Tim gained his Master of Law degree from Ghent University in 2011 and was admitted to the bar in December 2012. Working at Van Eeckhoutte, Taquet & Clesse, he specialised in social law before transferring to Cygnus Advocaten in 2020.

Tim focuses on individual employment law - with specific expertise in dismissal proceedings - as well as social criminal law and civil service and disciplinary law. Having accrued many years of experience as a litigator, he knows how to strategically build a case to be persuasive in court. With his incisive approach and in-depth knowledge of social law he is a dynamic partner for his clients.

Together with Alain Uyttenhove, he co-authored the book entitled CAO Nr. 109 en kennelijk onredelijk ontslag (CLA No. 109 and manifestly unreasonable dismissal (Die Keure, 2023).
