Alain Uyttenhove

Alain Uyttenhove studied law at KU Leuven. In 1997, he joined the university as an assistant and research assistant at the Institute of Social Law. He became a lawyer at the Bruges Bar in 2003 and has worked at Cygnus Advocaten ever since.

Alain delivered the opening speech at the Bruges Bar Association at the opening of the 2004-2005 judicial year.

Alain focuses on various aspects of social law and has a particular interest in dismissal disputes, international employment and deployment. Together with Tim Defauw, he co-authored the book entitled CAO Nr. 109 en kennelijk onredelijk ontslag (CLA No. 109 and manifestly unreasonable dismissal (Die Keure, 2023).
